Tigers are Minor Champions

Posted by Scott McConnell on May 24 2011 at 09:00AM PDT

5/23/11

What a great game on Monday 5/23.

Both teams came out swinging the bats yesterday. Both leadoff hitters for both teams leadoff the first inning with triples and the action never stopped after that.

The Nationals scored the first run of the game in the first. The Tigers then cam back and scored two in the bottom of the first and second innings to take a 4-1 lead. The Nationals then started their first of many comebacks scoring 3 in the top of the 3rd. The Tigers kept the pressure on Scoring two more runs to take a 6-4 lead after 3 innings. The Nationals then scored a run in the 4th and the 5th innings to tie the game 6-6.

The Tigers looking to clinch the championship scored a run to take a 7-6 lead and needed just 3 outs to secure the Championship. The Nationals again came back to tie the score 7-7 with two outs in the last inning. The Nationals were hoping for extra innings. But the Tigers ended that possibility by scoring a run in the bottom of the 6th to win the Minor Championship.

Congratulations Al, your team never gave up and continued to battle to the end. Great Job.

Congratulations to the Len and the Tigers again. The Nationals kept the pressure on with their great comebacks, but your team met each challenge and won the championship.

What a great year in Minors. The only thing which topped the year was the final game.

The Tigers will be in the TOC with their first game June 5th at Arcadia American (Windsor Field). Check out the front page of our website www.pallbb.org for additional information.

The Nationals will be participating in the City Tournament with their first game on Wednesday June 8th at Longdon Field at Arcadia National LL.

Good Luck to both of our teams and come out to support both of them.
