Sat 3/5 Angels 2 - Dodgers 2 TO BE CONTINUED…… The first Majors game of the season started us off
with some real baseball drama. Angels and Dodgers tied it at
2 runs apiece. The stats show an even closer game. The Angels
had 2 hits. Tommy hit a stand up double to the gap in right center.
Riley hit one solidly into right for a nice single. The Dodgers
had 3 hits. Robbie singled to left, Filipe and Jonah both went
deep for stand up doubles. The game came down to a pitching battle.
Dodgers pitchers struck out 13 while Angels pitchers struck out
16. For the Dodgers; Matt B. struck out 5 in 2 innings, Robbie
struck out 8 in 4 innings. For the Angels; Matt G. struck out
9 in 3 innings (!), Matt A. had 5 strike outs in 2 innings, and
Isaac struck out 2 in the 6th. Angels pitchers gave up 6 walks,
the Dodgers 5. Batters on both teams battled hard against great
pitching. Pitchers battled with runners in scoring position to
close out innings that could have changed the outcome of the
game. There were very few errors (I counted one each for each
team), several stolen bases, and good plays made all around on
both sides. Good game Angels. Way to go Dodgers. Congratulations
to all the players for giving it their all. Good luck to everyone
in PALL, we’re all hoping for another great season.
