The Red Sox were led by strong pitching by Andrew and
Ezra, striking out 7 batters and giving up no runs in three innings.
After the 3rd, the Red Sox led the PC Rangers 10-0. Grayson made
two great plays at third base and Aaron showed great leadership
at catcher. The offense consisted of a combination of walks (12)
and hits (12); however, it was highlighted by some big bombs, including
triples by Aaron and Andrew as well as doubles by Ezra (2), Reiley,
Ryan, and a monster shot by Greg that got stuck under the outfield
fence.
Thurs 3/11 Braves 17 - PC Rangers 11
The Braves put nine runs
on the board early and rode Tony's pitching through the 2nd inning
where the score was 9-1 at that point. The crowd was excited when
both Jonathan and Brandon pitched an inning apiece for the Braves.
Also, Adrian from the Farm D-Backs got to play in his first minor
game as a sub. The highlight of the night, however, was a inside-the-park
home run by Jonathan.
Wed 3/10 Padres 6 – Phillies 2
Baseball is about pitching
and this game highlighted great performances by both teams. Dustin
and Alvardo for the Phillies and Scott and Jesse for the Padres.
The Padres pushed a single run in the 4th inning to hold onto
a precarious 1-0 until the sixth inning. The Padres were able
to score another run in to take a 2 run lead and then with the
bases loaded, Skyler uncorked a shot to right center to the fence
for an inside the park home run to take a 6-0 lead to the bottom
of the sixth. Phillies came back strong and showed how tough
they are going to be this year.
Tues 3/9 Braves 4 - Tigers 2
Both teams started strong with Garet
pitching strong for the Tigers and Nick pitching well for the Braves.
After a 0-0 first inning, the Braves put two on the board capped
off by a great bat-on-ball single by Robert against Garet. The
Braves put two more on the board in the third led by a single by
Sheldon. The score stayed that way for the final on what was a
freezing night.
Sat 3/6 Braves 7 - Rockies 3

in the morning, the Braves and Rockies lucked out and were able
to play their first game of the season. Jorge pitched very well
for the Braves, limiting the Rockies to no runs in the first 2
2/3rds innings. Meanwhile the Braves offense put up an early 5
runs through mostly base hits, walks and steals. The Rockies came
back though and put on a good charge with 3 runs in the top of
the 5th to make it a 2-run game. However, the play of the game
was Robert from the Braves who made an outstanding catch of a Rockies
fly ball with loud cheers coming from his team, coaches and families
watching in the stands.
